This week we have been celebrating the wonderful world of Dr. Seuss. Wednesday we read several Dr. Seuss books, so we made Truffula Trees! We read Green Eggs and Ham, Oh, the Places You’ll Go!, and Dr. Seuss’ ABC Book. It was also Wacky Hat Day for our Dress Up Days, so we had to wear them all day of course!
We started the morning with our art project. Everyone got a glue stick, a black marker, and a teal sheet of construction paper. First, the kids made stripes down three strips of white paper to look like the trunks of Dr. Seuss’ wacky truffula trees.
After everyone made their stripes, we glues them to the teal paper making sure to spread them out. Then I went around and each student got to pick three different colored tops for their trees. We glued them on and completed them by writing our names at the top!
Fun Fact: In 1990, Dr. Seuss released his first book, “Oh, the Places You’ll Go!”
